Le Marche

Le Marche

LE MARCHE The whole of Italy in one region

Do you want authenticity, you love Italy as it once was? The sea and the beautiful rolling hills where an old farmer inspects his poultry. Vineyards and olive trees, corn, sunflowers and coriander. And above all the delicious Italian cuisine. No tourist menues, but typical food that La Nonna (grandmother) is making for over the last decades. Combined with very friendly people and accordingly low prices this is heaven on earth. That is all to be found in Le Marche (pronounced as Le Marke), one of the best kept secrets of Italy. The region has much to offer and is gaining prominence, but mass tourism is missing here and that we actually want to keep it that way. Most of the tourists are Italians who go on holiday in their own country, especially to the coast.

Beaches

Le Marche is situated on the Adriatic coast and the beaches are from North to South very different. In Senigallia in the north you will find the “spaggia velluta” the velvet beach. A lovely sandy beach. Just below Ancona there you’ll find the Monte Conero, a beautiful mountain that ends in the sea. At the foot of the mountain you have small coves with pebble beaches. The beautiful towns of Sirolo, Numana and Porto Novo are very Italian. They are located on and around the Conero, from where you have great views. In the south of Le Marche the climate and the sight are somewhat subtropical. Around Grottamare and San Benedetto del Tronto is the “Spaggia delle Palme”,  the palm beach.
